ABOUT THE ARTIST
Having been born on the coast of California in Fort Ord (Monterey County), and having since lived in East Oakland, South Hayward, North and South Stockton, LA, and currently a resident of Sacramento since 2009, Artist Demetris BAMR Washington is no stranger to the diverse range of culture that the Golden State has to offer. These cultural influences are often evident in his works, as he creates with an aim to tell stories that inspire all who come in contact with them- Filling the world with color and creativity, one work at a time. Since completing his first mural in 2008, Demetris has done over 90 murals throughout the state of California ranging from small to large scale and over 2000 works on canvas and various materials. If he had to define his work by category, he would describe it as Cartoon Surrealism.”
